Here you can find high quality, handmade sweet potato style ceramic ocarinas, a variety of whistles including bird whistles, musical and clay jewelry, and several reproductions of historical musical instruments.

Chris Heuer and Amy Lake are the joint owners of Sixth Street Pottery in Columbia, Missouri. We are a family business dedicated to offering you a unique line of high quality handmade ceramic ocarinas and whistles. Chris is the Master Ocarina-Maker, with 30 years experience as a ceramic artist. Amy is the Business Manager and Production Potter.

We use a variety of clay working techniques to make our products including wheel throwing, hand building, slab work, and press molding. All of our glazes and decorations are non-toxic and washable.

We take great care to ensure that each item is capable of producing a rich full sound. Each ocarina is individually tuned so it will play an accurate musical scale in the key of C or F. We take the time to hand decorate our ocarinas and whistles, so each one is a unique piece of art in addition to a musical instrument. Our ocarinas are tuned to A-440 Hz concert pitch.
